This series contains the personal papers of John Newton Dyer, a Columbia Broadcast System (CBS) radio engineer who served as operating radio engineer for Admiral Richard E. Byrd's Second Antarctic Expedition from 1933 through 1935. The documents include the logs, records of radio equipment purchasing and experimentation, records of his broadcasts, and clippings from newspapers on, and memorabilia related to the expedition. Among the papers are a typescript entitled, "Radiolog over Second Exploration Flight, January 3, 1934," and a flight log typescript entitled, "Official Flight Log of Byrd Antarctic Expedition II, 1933-1935."
